Last Saturday saw Heron Tennis hold its annual junior christmas party. The event held every year as an end of year celebration for the children and a chance to present awards to the juniors who have shown great enthusiasm, a great attitude to improve and achieved over the year.

This year saw over 80 children come along in festive fancy dress to see childrens entertainer Julie Norfolk entertain & wow the younger children with a mix of magic tricks, ventriloquism and party games while the older children enjoyed 2 hours of competition, fun games and football outdoors on the tennis courts before all moved upstairs for food provided by Sally and her team at the Heron Courtside Cafe.

Awards

Every year Heron Tennis along side the coaches of Ace coaching academy present awards to players who have shown great attitude, improvement and success throughout the year. Heron Tennis & Ace Academy has been very fortunate to have such a good mix of players of which are competing not only at the club but have been travelling round playing events round the country. We are proud to announce the players of the year for 2010/2011 are Elliot Moses and Charlotte Besenyi who have achieved great things this year. Elliot Moses for his great work in the mens A team and competing in Germany and Charlotte for her enthusiam towards tennis and competing this year in events at Heron Tennis.

Alongside the players of the year award we also present the Spirit of Ken Bunt Award. This is a special award given in memory of Ken Bunt who was a keen admirer of tennis and always found time to help players by giving advice or have a game. This year the award goes to Toby Roberts whos achievement includes getting into the Cornwall County squad this year. He recieves this award for his dedication towards training, practice and his willingness to play and practice with all that ask.
